for that special birthday, shower or Christmas gift?
The
Book Nook gift shop, located just off the main entrance
to the Motherhouse at 1020 State Street, Baden, features
a variety of unique items including greeting cards for all
occasions, stationary, framed paintings, books, CDs, candles,
soaps and other religious items, many made by our Sisters,
employees and friends.
Sister
Kathleen Garde, coordinator, invites visitors to shop for
gifts and religious items for Christmas and other special
occasions including birthdays, Easter, First Communion,
baby and bridal showers. Gift certificates also are available.
Proceeds
from gift shop sales benefit the Sisters of St. Joseph and
their sponsored ministries Villa St. Joseph and Mount Gallitzin
Academy.
Over
the years, the Book Nook has grown from a simple space where
Sister Maureen Clark began displaying pottery and other
art created by Sisters in the late 1960s.
Today,
the Book Nook is tailored more toward the concept of holistic
living and offers something for everyone.
