Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Grounds
Provide Students with Unique Experiences

At Mount Gallitzin Academy, students are blessed to share 88 acres with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, just off Route 65.

Through curriculum, athletics, recreation and enrichment programs, students have access to grounds and facilities that set the academy apart from other private and public schools in the area. Students take full advantage of expansive outdoor play areas and gardens, indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, updated library and computer lab, 475-seat auditorium, and newly renovated chapel.

The modern computer lab has high-speed internet connections.
The library offers reading and study materials in a relaxed setting.
Plays and music events find an ideal stage at the auditorium.
The indoor swimming pool is state of the art.
The newly renovated chapel allows students opportunities for celebrating the sacraments, quiet reflection and faith formation.

In keeping with the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Mount Gallitzin Academy honors each child as a gift of God, helping them to grow not only spiritually and academically, but physically as well. Along with a core academic program, professional faculty and faith development, the grounds and facilities provide students with truly life-giving, hands-on experiences, such as:

  • planting and tending flower and vegetable gardens
  • learning to swim safely
  • participating in organized sports
  • developing talents on stage
  • reverencing God and Earth through prayer and activities
  • learning Gospel values by practicing personal service and social justice
Gardening rewards patience and work with wonder and a sense of the seasons.

As schools across the country cut back on opportunities for free, active play, recess and the performing arts, Mount Gallitzin Academy continues to value the important experiences these activities provide — developing children’s imaginations and creativity and contributing to healthy self-image and expression.
