Where young adults
can deepen their relationship with God
|
 |
|
"Visitation
House is responding
to the needs of young people today.
There is a tremendous hunger among
young adults for community, for spirituality and
for a deepening relationship with God.
Visitation House is a way for our Sisters to
create an environment where young adults
can tend to these deep desires."

VISITATION
HOUSE, which opened its doors in January 2002, is a ministry
of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, Pennsylvania. The
house at 2114 Sarah Street on Pittsburgh’s South Side provides
a gathering place for young adults who desire to deepen
their relationship with God. Visitation House provides opportunities
for faith formation, spiritual enrichment, leadership development,
and discernment for Catholic young women and men between
the ages of 18 and 39.
VISITATION
HOUSE also provides an opportunity for young women to experience
community living for a time under the mentoring guidance
of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The community experience focuses
on interdependent living, both personal and shared prayer
and shared responsibilities for the good of the community.
Women who may or may not be interested in vowed religious
life are invited to make a year commitment to the development
of community life at Visitation House. Women pay a monthly
room-and-board fee to cover living expenses at the house.
While living at Visitation House, women continue their work
or school responsibilities. Community living provides an
experience of learning to live interdependently with other
adults in an intentionally spiritual environment that provides
both challenge and support.
