SUMMARY:Volunteer Service Days: 2026 Season
DESCRIPTION:Spend one Saturday a month to help us protect and care for creation!\nDo you enjoy time in nature and making a positive difference in the lives of those around you? If so\, you might love to be part of our Volunteer Service Days crew! \nHelp us maintain this beautiful greenspace for all of our dear neighbors to enjoy. Tasks include: weeding\, gardening\, pruning and care of our orchard and blackberry bushes\, mulching gardens\, removing invasive plants\, clearing the nature trail and care of our sacred spaces like the cemetery\, tree trail\, and labyrinth. \n\n\nCome for all or part of the time!\n\n\nWork Days begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.\, weather-permitting\, on the following dates: \nApril 18\nMay 16\nJune 20\nJuly 18\nAugust 15\nSept 12\nOct 17\nNov 21 \nStay for a free lunch in our dining room and visit with Sisters and friends! Weather-related cancellations will be announced by 3 pm on the Friday before each Service Day. \n\nOur only request is that you please bring your own water bottle (which can be refilled onsite). We discourage the use of store-bought bottled water because of our commitment to reduce plastic consumption. \nPlease RSVP by emailing Karyn Zaffuto at kzaffuto@stjoseph-baden.org (one week in advance\, if possible) and let us know if you will be staying for lunch!

SUMMARY:The Sacred Companion Suit: A SoulCollage® Experience
DESCRIPTION:Spend a Saturday morning creating with Sister Sandy Yost!\nSoulCollage® is an expressive arts practice that uses creativity for self-discovery. It’s for anybody – whether you’re on a spiritual journey or going through a stressful situation and would like to connect with some support. \nThis two-hour session is inspired by the writings of St. Hildegard of Bingen\, and will focus on using SoulCollage® to uncover the wisdom hidden in different energy centers in the body. You may encounter a companion animal to support you in a healing journey. You will then make a SoulCollage® card to represent this relationship and practice letting the energy of the card speak to you. \n \n\n\nPowered by SimpleTix\n\n\nFAQs:\nWho is St. Hildegard of Bingen?\nSt. Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179) was a German Benedictine abbess\, mystic\, theologian\, composer\, writer\, and visionary whose work reflected a holistic understanding of spirituality\, nature\, and the interconnectedness of creation. \nDo I need to be familiar with SoulCollage® or have art skills?\nThis session is designed for beginners as well as those who have previous SoulCollage® or art experience. \nWhat do you mean by “energy centers”?\nWe’ll explore the body as a source of wisdom and use the concept of energy centers as a framework for reflection and creative expression. \nDo I have to share my artwork or personal reflections?\nYou’re welcome to participate at your own level of comfort. Sharing is invited but not required. \nAre art supplies provided?\nWe supply all materials for your collage\, though you’re welcome to bring additional items to supplement what’s offered. \nIs this program recommended for all ages?\nSoulCollage® is recommended for participants ages 16 and older. Artists under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nDo I have to be Catholic to participate?\nSt. Joseph Spirituality Center is a loving\, welcoming space for all people to seek a deeper union with God\, neighbor\, and all creation. \nAre scholarships available? \nWe believe cost should not be a barrier to participation.
