Nursing assistants with relevant experience (both certified and non-certified) will be considered for our Full-time PRN positions. PRN openings for all shifts: daylight (6:30 am – 3 pm), evening shifts (2:30 – 11 pm), and overnight (10:30 pm – 7:00 am). Full-time must be able to work both daylight and evening shifts.
Our nursing assistants provide compassionate care for retired Sisters in their beautiful, historic home (which they refer to as the Motherhouse.)
Responsibilities
*Low resident to staff ratio, with an average of 10 Sisters per aide*
*Generous shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends*
Duties of the Nursing Assistant include:
- Assist with household tasks, e.g., making bed, changing linens, laundry
 - Encourage independence for each Sister within her individual capacity
 - Transport Sisters to various areas of the Motherhouse and offer assistance as needed
 - Coordinate with patient care team
 - Orient Sisters to time, person and place as needed and update orientation boards in each living area daily
 - Assist nurses and nurse aides in providing treatments as ordered, e.g., hot packs
 - Work every shift conscious of a team approach and the continuity of care for the Sisters
 
Qualifications Required of the Nursing Assistant:
- High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years of age
 - 6-12 months of experience in a personal care or nursing home working with elders
 - Self-motivated and compassionate caregiver
 - Good verbal and written communication skills
 - Must be reliable and dependable
 - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform one person transfer under routine and emergency situations, re-position a patient alone, and be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, pull climb, reach, lift and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities
 - Must have flexibility to work different shifts
 
Qualifications Preferred of the CNA/Nursing Assistant:
- Trained in first aid/CPR procedures
 - Current certification as CNA
 
Pay: $18.74 – $21.74 per hour (with shift differential)
The Sisters of St. Joseph are seeking a full-time Housekeeping Aide to work 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, during daylight hours.
Some essential duties include:
- Responsible for cleaning shared bathrooms within Supportive Living area, using care to in order to reduce the risk of infection and provides in the upkeep and general appearance of the facility on a daily basis.
 - Prepare and clean Sisters rooms when rooms are vacated to prepare for new occupant
 - Responsible for general appearance and upkeep of the following common areas:
 - Maintain clean and disinfected kitchenette areas, including ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots, toasters, table and counter surfaces, dishwashers, etc.
 - Follow cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined
 - Be mindful and aware of the safety of the Sisters at all times.
 - Keep supplies stocked (toilet paper, power towels, etc.)
 - Assist Sisters with completing small tasks, like reaching items from high surfaces, carrying items to/from their rooms, etc.
 - Remove garbage and recycling daily and as needed.
 - Perform other tasks as directed
 
Qualifications Required:
High School diploma/GED and 1-2 years’ experience in general housekeeping
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
Customer-oriented and friendly
Prioritization and time management skills
Working quickly without compromising quality
Knowledge of English language
Must be reliable and dependable
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. We are seeking Ecology, Spirituality, & Justice Administrative Assistant an to join our team in Baden, PA. This position is responsible for administrative support to the core ministry areas of Ecology, Spirituality, Justice, and Community Outreach and occasionally to managers of diverse areas: Archives, and Mission Advancement. To support these efforts, some evening and weekend hours may be required.
The duties and responsibilities include general administrative tasks as well as specialized support to core ministry areas including, but are not limited to:
· Schedule meetings via Outlook calendar
· Maintain and update ESJ Collaborative Calendar; assist with Trinity House (Spirituality Center) calendar
· Process invoices and update accounts payable spreadsheets
· Attend meetings and take notes as requested
· Prepare in-house flyers as needed
· Serve as communications contact to Sisters and staff on behalf of supported departments
· Serve as point of contact for ordering office supplies for supported departments
· Create Zoom links and set-ups for supported department staff
· Collaborate with Mission Advancement Team and supported departments to create spreadsheets that reflect mission impact
· Update inventory lists for apiary/barn
· Assist in coordinating logistics and communications with volunteers, visiting groups, and Volunteer Workday program (March-November)
· Print and cut informational cards for gift shop products
· Copy and prepare funeral programs and worship aids
· Keep records, as requested, of Spirituality Center activities
· Track and organize registrations for Spirituality Center programs

Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years’ experience in an administrative support office environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Required Experience:

We are seeking a Telecommunications & Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position represents the organization to callers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner, attends to visitors, and handles inquiries on the phone and face-to-face. This position also serves as administrative support to the Maintenance Department and oversees the Master Calendar for the organization. To support these efforts, occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Operate the telephone system to answer, screen and forward calls, provide information and take messages
· Receive and greet visitors to the Motherhouse, determine nature and purpose of visit, and notify appropriate staff member or Sister
· Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of organization, key business functions and organizational structure
· Provide information about the Motherhouse, such as directions, parking, location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided
· Manage receptionist schedule for coverage, during off hours and special circumstances
· Collect and distribute messages and courier deliveries; sort and distribute mail
· Administer key fobs for the building and maintain accurate spreadsheet
· Manage the Master Calendar by serving as the point of contact for the various event originators and Community Outreach Coordinator to ensure no double-booking nor back-to-back events
· Manage all aspects of visitor overnight reservations and process all guest invoices
· Maintain maintenance & telecommunications files and process invoices for payment
· Assist other departments with certain tasks such as addressing and stuffing envelopes as needed
· Maintain transportation credit card, keeping up with the sign-up sheet and taking care of receipts and bank statement
· Maintain, collect, and distribute the Event Requirements form to impacted areas; update as needed

 - Serve in both the LPN and nursing assistant capacity aides as available, including the following tasks:
 - Provides dignified hygienic care to Sisters requiring assistance on an as needed basis

 - Pass meds, give injections, check blood pressure, and give treatment as ordered

 - Completion of a Practical Nursing Program approved by the PA State Board of Nursing

We are seeking a full-time (32 hours/week) Activity Coordinator & Wellness Support to plan and organize enriching and varied activities for the members of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden. This position supports the Director of Member Well-Being and works with the Wellness Team and the Minister of Community Life to care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the Sisters, always in a person-centered care approach. To support these efforts, occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
Some essential duties, but are not limited to:
Activities Coordinator:
- Plan and organize a variety of activities (group and individual), programs and events for the Sisters
 - Provide an activities program on a daily basis
 - Encourage participation in these activities through advertising and word of mouth
 - Prepare a weekly/monthly calendar of activities (large print) & posted in a prominent location
 - Supervise activities of exercise and music therapy programs
 - Help maintain a pleasant and cheerful environment (i.e., seasonal decorating)
 - Maintain massage schedule/take care of massage laundry
 
Wellness Team Support:
- Monitor/report individual and group safety concerns.
 - Observe individual Sister’s participation and responses during activities
 - Visit and engage with Sisters residing at facilities outside of the Motherhouse
 - Help ensure room/apartment is thoroughly cleaned following the move or death of a Sister
 - Help with sorting & organizing projects for individual Sisters or the Wellness Team as requested
 - Help with laundry for Sisters residing in the Villa St. Joseph
 - Perform other related duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years’ experience working in a social/recreational program or a resident activities program in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Required Experience: Motivated, energetic, innovative, and highly organized; Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365; Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Willingness to consider the advice and opinion of others.
