Singing Alleluia with a Broken Heart: Womanist and Feminist Explorations of Trauma and Grace

Dr. Elisabeth Vasko, Associate Professor of Theology at Duquesne University, holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Loyola
University. She focuses her teaching on the intersection of Christian theologies and violence.

Drawing insight from the wisdom of Christian tradition and community, this retreat day carves out spaces for lamenting brokenness in our community and re-imagining patterns of thought and bodily habits so as to reclaim the future together. In the midst of brokenness, what does it mean to love God? To love one’s self? To love one’s neighbor?

This day of prayer is sponsored by the Associates of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Fee includes continental breakfast and lunch. Scholarships are available.

To register, send fee, name, phone number and address to Kathleen Lotzmann, 105 Wingate Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. 15205. Registration deadline is October 29, 2016.
