Sister Catherine Higgins and a team of directors will lead participants through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in Daily Life beginning Tuesday, September 19, with weekly meetings through May 8, 2018. Sessions are from 1-2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Spirituality Center. Significant breaks are planned for mid-December, mid-January and as appropriate.
Learn how to pray while contemplating the presence of God in the everyday world. The commitment includes 45-60 minutes a day of personal prayer with the Scripture and other readings provided. The weekly sessions are faith sharing sessions during which we will share prayer and the experience of our own prayer with one another in a contemplative, confidential setting.
Retreat cost is $500 and may be paid in one, two or monthly payments beginning in August. Limited partial scholarships are available. Registration is limited and ends July 31. A $50 deposit is required. The group will be formed on a first come first served basis.
About the Spiritual Exercises
St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), developed his Spiritual Exercises to help people to deepen their relationship with Christ and to give a structure to each person’s prayer and spirituality. These Exercises consist of a set of meditations, prayers, reflections and considerations – “Exercises” – that are grounded in Scripture. The Exercises have informed the spirituality of all Jesuits, Pope Francis, Sisters of St. Joseph and countless lay women and men ever since.
