On Thursday, May 1, Sisters joined with members of the broader faith community in Beaver County to pray for healing, inclusion, and peace at the Annual Unity Day of Prayer. Many represented there – including our Sisters – are part of the Undivided in Christ movement, a multi-ethnic and multi-generational group of neighbors committed to seeing racial reconciliation and healing in Beaver County.
After a time of connection and worship, pastors and lay leaders led those gathered in praying for the needs in all parts of our community – for parents, children, elders, those recovering from addiction, immigrants, for all who suffer on the margins and for our churches to be a place of love, welcome, and hope.
Sister Mary Parks moderated the gathering, praying that through the words and wisdom shared this day that we might come to see each other “as brothers and sisters and not strangers.”
