At the end of this month, our Sisters will gather here in Baden, PA, for seven days to participate in what we call “Chapter.”
Chapter, a deeply sacred time for us, is convened by all communities of Catholic Sisters at prescribed intervals of time. Our last Chapter gathering took place in 2018 so we are approaching the end of our five-year cycle.
During this time, we assess our lives and our work. We discuss challenges. We explore possibilities for how we might continue our mission of serving God and the dear neighbor, without distinction, into the future.
Chapter 2023 will take place from June 23 through June 30 at our Motherhouse. Throughout the week, we will set our overarching directions for the next five years, and elect members to serve in the ministry of Leadership. You may know our current Leadership Team of Sister Sharon Costello, Sister Lyn Szymkiewicz, Sister Mary Parks, and Sister Jean Uzupis.
With a steering committee, we began planning for Chapter at least a year ago and, shortly thereafter, selected a theme of Radiate Love that serves to inspire our work and our lives into the future.
No matter how we respond to the critical needs of these times – through ministry, advocacy, or prayer – we do so with the grace of God’s great Love.
