Earlier this spring, we were honored to receive word that the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network had named us as their 2026 Champions of Justice Award winner.
The congregation was recognized for our sponsorship of the weekly Prayer Vigils outside the ICE Headquarters in Pittsburgh, which began last summer in response to increasingly violent and hostile treatment of immigrants in our region.
While the Vigil is co-sponsored by Pax Christi and Casa San José, it is organized by Sisters Barbara Finch and Janice Vanderneck who attend faithfully each week, along with a diverse and growing contingent of people of all faiths and backgrounds.
All are welcome to participate in this peaceful, prayer action that takes place weekly on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at 3000 Sidney Street, Pittsburgh, PA.
